| | | Hotspots for Stoats?? Does anyone know of any particular areas or even spots with a reasonable chance of observing a stoat, preferably somewhere in the North West (ideally Lancs!)???
Or pine martins, weasels, any mammal of that type. Would love to hide out somewhere, even in this cold, and wait with the knowledge there's a decent chance of spotting one....
Thanks. |

I`m sure someone will be along to help with specific locations near to you, but in more general terms,as well as countryside hedgerows, coastal dunes tend to be good for Weasels in my own area,in particular those with good vole and shrew populations, and large rabbit warrens can be consistent for Stoats.Spend some time in locations like these and you may get some nice sightings.
As far as Pine Martens go, theyre present in the Lakes which arent too far from you, but information is scarce.Maybe getting in touch with the nearest branch of the Mammal Society to you may help you get more info.
