| | | spot, our orphaned rabbit hi just wanted to let everyone know how spot was getting on as so many of you helped me when i was so much in need of help, we have decided that we will have to keep her/him as it has become to tame, it acts just like one of the children now, i tried not to touch it that often, but it still managed to become a little too attached, it plays with the children, he/she is doing very well, putting a nice weight on, well just wanted to let you all know and thanks again for all your help lol julie |

So glad to hear that little Spot is fit and healthy - you're obviously doing something right!
I can't comment on keeping a wild rabbit as a pet as I have no personal experience of doing such a thing but tbh I'd be more encouraged to let it go back to the wild at some point

| | | Re: spot, our orphaned rabbit Hi,
Thanks for the update, I had a funny feeling he/she would end up as a permanant resident lol!
I know of some people who have ended up keeping wild babies as 'pets' and they seem to cope reasonably well with life in captivity. Being of a more highly strung nature though, they do need more than your average hutch/run set-up. Most people opt to keep them as free ranging housebuns. Then of course he/she would need to be neutered when old enough and paired up with a companion as rabbits are naturally gregarious.
Will PM you some more info. |

| | | Re: spot, our orphaned rabbit thankyou everyone for your support, it has been much appreciated, have pm you bunster, well spot has become abit of a house bunny, and loves it, plays games with my 18 month old, they chase each other around, spot also crawls up your body til its sat on your chest for a cuddle, never thought i would see the day that a rabbit would run free around my house, touch wood, no chewed wires as yet, but putting them all out of the way, so hopefully there will be no accidents in that department, thankyou again lol julie |
