It just boils you over with anger to read something like this. I won't write more, think everyone will feel the same and most of us would be banned if we truly expressed our opinions as to how this make us feel deep down.

I saw this on the news just about half an hour ago, what a dire shame to a beautiful animal where's the sense in that I thought poachers killed for need and profit not just mindlessness then I suppose the head would make a pretty ornament.I will stop now before I am banned. Fi. X X X X

How hard can it be the spot the person with a white sttag head on there wall? They SHOULD be able to find them

I dont know who is worse - the idiot who shot it just for a few quid, or the person who would buy such a thing.Tis a sick world we live in

surely the police will be able to trace whoever mounts the head .it would have to be done pretty quickly ,i should imagine . as said previously words can not explain how angry i feel at this moment in time. what makes it worse is if they are caught they will receive the same punishment as if it was an run off the mill red /fallow/roe deer ....so sad

how sad makes me want to cry,that beatiful creature no more,they have got to be able to find out who is resposable for this wickedness,some one will let the cat out the bag somewhere,what a waste.

Shame.

Its worth pointing out that the white deer (in the first link) in the New Forest are a colour variant of the Fallow deer. The one in the picture is one of the Fallow bucks that hang around the Bolderwood area & come to the deer viewing platform to be fed in the summer for the public by one of the Forestry Commission Keepers.

The one that was shot on the Devon and Cornwall border (in the second link) was a white Red deer stag, much rarer.

Well, this left me speechless but not completly surprised, this world we live in has become money driven and anything unsual which walks or swims is killed for money, my suggestion is that if you see something so rare and beautiful, dont tell a soul, that might just save its life, many creatures on our wonderful planet are becoming extinct, all because of the dollar sign and pure ignorance, I hope they catch the person or persons responsible for this mindless death but I doubt it. There was a story a few years back that told of 2 white foxes, the place was named and hey presto, someone shot them, it is disgraceful but places and things like this should not be disclosed, ever.

I joined this wonderfull site a couple of days ago and i actually took the picture of the white buck (not a stag) in the Daily Echo. I was interveiwed by a reporter over the phone and was completely honest with him except for the position i took the photo. I just hope that any sad copycat trophy hunters have a long uncomfortable and frustraiting time trying to hunt him and wouldnt it be nice if they got nicked whilst trying.

Thats not to say that Rob T had an easy time getting a pic of the white buck, as he's not always by the viewing platform.

I've just seen a piece on the BBC news website and it seems they have seen a white deer calf in the same area that the stag was so cruelly killed. Maybe his legacy will live on.........
