| | | Red Deer at Wollaton Park We went yet again to Wollaton Park in Nottingham, hoping to see the Red Deer. On previous visits we'd managed to see a group of young males, a group of females with young and lone Stags.
Today we were in for a real treat as part of the breeding herd were very close for a change!
Here's some of the many shots I managed to get.
This is the Stag, and very busy he was!
This is him bringing a wandering female back into line.
He was fancying his chances here:
The chase was on:
She was having none of it.
You can sense the frustration!
One of the rarer relaxed moments.
This more than made up for a poor start to the day, with the weather yet again defying the forecasters.
One last one:

Looks very similar to what I witnessed last weekend at Richmond Park. All the males trying hard and getting no where fast. No fights either, just a lot of bellowing. One shouting match between 2 males ended up with all the females going from one to the other. I'll have to post the pics I took.

| | | Re: Red Deer at Wollaton Park I shall be paying a visit to Wollaton Park tomorrow, Tuesday. The weather forecast looks reasonable. I hope that the deer are as obliging tomorrow. |
