| | | Re: Help Friendly Mouse If you keep him in doors over winter and feed him etc he wont need to hibernate, although you wont be alble to release him until it gets warm. You will possibly need to post a photo for us to tell you the species of mouse. |

| | Re: Help Friendly Mouse hi all
just to let you know that the little mouse is still doing well and he/she seems to be getting a bit of strenght in one of his legs as he seems to be using it more than dragging it along
i dont think he will ever be releasable but he seems okey with his lot
so will stick with it . havent been able to get a good pic of him but hes dark grey with a white belly and quite big ears
thanx to you all again

thanx for the info on mouse
so he is probably a woodmouse?
he is really cute ive moved into the kitchen now in a quiet corner
i am hoping he will get used to a little normal house noise so he isnt as isolated
sounds daft i know
but i want him to be as content as possible
he does sit and eat while i watch him
then he scuttles into his toilet roll
hope he isnt too lonely
or are they solitary anyway?

| | | Re: Help Friendly Mouse Got no idea if they're solitary or not tbh! Have you had a look in the mammal galleries and done a search for wood mouse? Piccies will certainly help you ID your little furry one!
According to my Collins book, they like to eat... fungi, worms, insects, fruits and seeds and Wood mice are nocturnal, so if he/she's more active at night then it's most certainly a woody!

| | | Re: Help Friendly Mouse Aw well done Hazam, he came to you in the first place and you're doing a great job looking after the little fella. I love mice. What do you feed him on? |

| | | Re: Help Friendly Mouse i have been feeding him hamster food with some wild bird seeds
but ive cut back on the hamster food coz he seems to like the seeds best
cazzie says fungi /worms and insects are what he would normally eat so guess what i will be doing today!!! |

| | | Re: Help Friendly Mouse My kids have rescued lots of mice from our/neighbours cats etc. Usually they do ok if they survive the first couple of days. Most probably the paralysis is as a result of spinal injury sustained in cat attack.
I don't think it will fare well if you release it back into the wild. Looks like you have a new pet.
All ours that survived did fine on hamster food and fresh water. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
