| | | Re: Tatton Park - The Rut Cheers for that Jon. I don't live too far away so I might pop over if I get chance. Once you're in the park do you have to go anywhere in particular to see them, or are they easy enough to see?
Regards, Chris. |

Regards, Chris. | I enter by the village entrance and park the car wherever possible (you can't go in the park with a car until 11am). I walk up the main roadway and each time they have been on the right hand side after a distance of about 1 mile or so. They tend to go around the woods and it is worth trying to get into the woods and hide behind the trees in order to get a little closer. I am not kidding myself really though, they knew darned well I was there before I had got the camera ready!

| | | Re: Tatton Park - The Rut Thanks for the info Jon, I only live just down the road from Tatton, so weather permitting I'll try and have a look, especially as I have just got myself a new 135 - 400 mm lense.
It's funny, the nearer a place is to you the less likely you are to think of going there |

| | | Re: Tatton Park - Deer Rut You got some good shots there Jon, in a very good setting.
As you know, I've been going to Wollaton, but I've seen no evidence of Rutting yet. I think I'm going too late in the day, I must try and get in earlier, if only I could beat their entry system!
The frustrating part of Wollaton is that the Deer can go where I can't and at the moment it's that part of the park they're staying. |
