Grey Squirrel + Common Shrew were the only wild mammals I saw. I've mentioned some of other stuff I found in the Insect section under wonderful day thread (at least I think that's what it was called?). |

| | | Re: Is this a new species? Yes, joking aside, this could be a serious matter ecologically. I wouldn't be too concerned about them competing with grey squirrels ( ) but they could pose a severe threat to other mammals and birds.
Please pass on any information to appropriate bodies ... Quote:

We have had no reports or sightings of them here in the Ranger's Office and we'd be keen to know if these really are living on the Commons. | |

| | | Re: Is this a new species? Yep...as previously stated these sugar gliders are your culprits...was just reading about them today in a wildlife news feed Wildlife Extra - New exotic pests spotted in South West London
I too being a nature nazi am not too happy about it...other than the hope they give the greys a run for their money...but it's definately NOT a good thing, regardless how cute and furry they are!
if you can link back there is a horrid news story about 3 dead blue wales that have been found

People are getting 'status' pets, and then discarding them when they get fed up with them, or when they go out of fashion. It really is irresponsible, but what can you do about it? We've seen what 100 years of Greys can do, so if these new critters are to be controlled then a cull has to start now before they get a good foothold.
Failing that, me, jen and cazzie'l have a couple

(I do hope he asked?)
Guess we'll have to watch what we type now - never know who's looking or what article you'll end up in quotes for.
