| | | Re: hedgehogs yey ! one thing although it is tempting to pick them up, please don't unless there in danager, it can be highly stressful for any wild animal to be handle by humans.
Depends on how big it is to weather it mother would be still around.
Mine love Tesco's crunchy cat bisket, topped with milworms.

i want a pet hedgehog when im older now | as long as you provid water you should'nt need to wet the biscuits. I can get a tube of life mealworms for around £2.50 last age's as I only give a small amount. Ther normaly most active between 1-2am at least mine.
Weight will give me more idea of an age but sound like a very young one. I find it easy to judge weight as I compear it to how heavy one of my ferrets is. Plus having young hog here to grow on, you get use to the size and weight of young hogs.
I like you would love a pet Hedgehog, not shore how legal owning a european hedgehog (the type that lifes in are gardens) is. I have a good book on hedgehogs will root it out and post the name and auther for you.
Edit: here you go Amazon.co.uk: Hedgehogs (Pet Owner's Manual): Books: Matthew M. Vriends

Za | You might be onto something there Za
Jordanno - I feed my visiting hedgehog "Wildthings Hedgehog Food" which I ordered online. If you google that you should find some suppliers
Failing that, they like sunflower seeds, dried banana's (not too much), raisins, mealworm (can't think of anything else but I'm sure WAB'ers can).
The other important thing is to make sure there is a bowl of water out for them every night.
Once they know food & water is there for them they will become regular visitors.
Enjoy the experience!

Aww how lovely for you to have a hoggie in your garden. Do as the others have already said, put some food out and water and maybe if you can twist your dads arm, get him to make a hedgie house for it!
Enjoy your spikey new friend (but don't pick it up ok!) |
