| | | Bats Hi
Every night me and my husband watch a bat, its flys so low and fast it's a wonder it don't hit something.
We are guessing here that it might be a common pipistrelle, well thats the nearest we can see in a book anyway.
We only see it as its just about dark at night and just about light in the mornings(would that suggest it lives nearby?)
We've named him Billy the bat!

| | | Re: Bats I also have one, sometimes two flying shortly after dark around nearby gardens. I'm not sure how far Pipistrelles range from their roosting sites but I would hazard a guess that it was nearby. Cheers

Standard advice contact your local bat group for a positive ID it is important to
log these roosts to protect these beautiful unique mammals

| | | Re: Bats Yesterday morning, about 6am, I walked through our local park en route to the supermarket before getting out for the day + saw 2 Pipistrelle species hunting around the oak canopies. I was quite thrilled at this, since it's years since I've seen them this close to my house + I've never seen them here before.
Once, a few years back, I saw 1 over the back garden. |

| | | Re: Bats I showed a few people the Bats around the campsite they had never noticed them before!!
Anything that makes people aware of these unique mammals is good I love to see peoples
faces when they see and hear them for the first time.Look out for organised Bat Walks they are a really good way of getting information and education across.
I glad your son liked the Bats Jen
