Help With Bat Survey

Just read this and Wondered if any WAB members would be interested in taking part in this Survey..


Help Us Find Bats

It took place last month so it will have to be next year now.
Very informative website though, especially for newcomers to bat detecting.

There are BCT surveys on for most of the year I find them very entertaining
the one I am involved with currently is a Daubenton survey of one kilometer
of a local river, luckily it starts at a pub and finishes at a pub
The trick is to go to the furthest point while it is still light and mark your sample
points with pegged(white) paper plates so's you can find them as darkness closes in
Contact the BCT these surveys can be used in evidence in development enquirys and
just help us plot the health of our Bat population very worthwhile and gives a purpose to walking the dog

Between the weather and work I have not managed to carry out any of the BCT surveys I signed up for this year - which I feel quite guilty about. Jayne did manage to get hers done with me tagging along so at least we didn't totally fail.

Just signed up cause we got some pipistelles in our loft space some where behind the water tank i think not sure where though cause i dont want to disturb them but we've seen them comming out of a little gap on the side of the house

Lucky you Just as a matter of intrest which way does the exit face SE ?
and the roost position S ?
