There is a seal rehabilitation centre near to where I live and I believe they release them in the Wash, and I often wonder if they know which way to go! Did you notice if it had a tag on a rear flipper? | hi i live in march cambs so i know the river nene,is there anyone on the site from here. |

There have been harbour porpoises seen by the pier this year |

I saw the seal just upstrem from Holywell. I think it must have got this upstream past the locks and weirs and Brownshill Stauch when the fields were flooded; and probably can't get back. The river is tidal up to the Staunch - you seem to be local and no doubt know this.

I apologise for the quality; my pump was not extended, there were high nettles between me and the river; and I could not believe my eyes. Colin | Just an update to this topic A seal gets up the Ouse as far as the Pike and Eel Marina, I sat watching it hunt last year between the boats 23/01/2010 | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
