| | I am lucky enough to have Deer visit my garden! There is a family of Deer that are living in the woods very near to my garden - which backs onto it. I live in the middle of the wood, so the surrounding area is all beautiful woodland. The family have been there a year - (maybe more, but i've only lived here for a year) and this week I saw the Mother walking with two fouls through my garden! They make the same trek every morning - they enter the garden via the front, where they nibble the grass, then they make their way around to the back, where they have a nibble on my Raspberries, graze some more grass, then off home again, completing a circuit. They do all this at around 6am, it is lovely to see such wildlife right on my doorstep! |

| | Re: I am lucky enough to have Deer visit my garden! I don't really mind sharing my raspberries, no! I have plenty, and they actually help to keep them at a sensible height for picking! They are there for the enjoyment of all. I have tried to get some pictures, but failed. Either the quality was awful, or the Deer would not stand still long enough to be photographed! I have thought about trying to make them more tame, maybe give them some sheep nuts or something, but I only think that this would make them more reliant on humans, and cause problems later on! |

I suppose it's a case of patiently waiting for the ideal moment to use the camera? |

| | Re: I am lucky enough to have Deer visit my garden! I will get myself a good camera, and then sit and wait! We were even luckier one morning - a young Doe had got itself stuck in our courtyard - must've fallen from the forest down into it. We found it at 10am ish running around frantically trying to get out. Our presence scared it enough into jumping and clearing a 6 foot wall, scaling a corrugated roof, and was on it's way! I will get some pics of my garden, and hopefully the Deer too! |

I don't get to see Roe deer very often, but yesterday I was lucky enough to see three in the first field I walked across at the start of a walk. I see Fallow deer quite frequently when I go walking, and Muntjacs seem to be quite common in this part of the country. I saw four Muntjacs on Wednesday, but then I was walking a mile or two from Woburn Abbey, where I believe a lot of them originated. |

I nearly always see a deer on my travels. Cant remember the last time i didnt.
Unfortunately with my camera i have to try to get close and yes you guessed it, bye bye mrs roe. Sometimes i have been fortunate to get a photo but usually its blurred or the deer is so far back in the picture. Perserverance | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
