| | Beavers at Martin Mere Hi there I am new to this forum after being told about it by a chap I was speaking to at Martin Mere last Saturday, we were both waiting for the cheely beavers to put in an apperance, unfortunately they did not!
I am happy to report that my partner (Bryan71) and I did see them as large as life the day they went in, I don't think we were supposed to be up in the hide on Wednesday as there were cones blocking the entrance, but as we had made the visit especially to see them, we were naughty and snook in!
I have sent some pictures off to the moderator, so hopefully you will get a chance to see them soon. I have put them under the Gallery section, in misc wildlife.
Has anyone else caught a glimps of this new beaver family?
Take care
Michelle

We met in the hide on Saturday, I didn't hang around too long because the guy at the centre said that Beavers are nocuturnal animals and I was impatient to see the whole of the reserve. Hubby was more patient than me and did manage to get a shot of something moving along the water which could possibly have been a Beavers nose but not for certain.
I wonder whether the best time to maybe catch a glimpse of the Beavers is later on in the year when the nights start to draw in.
Thanks for sharing the image of the Beavers in the Gallery.
Barbara
PS A warm welcome to the site to both of you |

| | | Re: Beavers at Martin Mere Hiya Barbara hope you enjoyed the rest of Martin Mere, Bryan and I love it there and have some great pictures of all the different ducks, geese and swans.
Pity the cheeky beavers didn't come out to play, maybe when they are a bit more established they will. As i said we are regulars there so will keep an update of what's happening with them.
I think i made a boob when posting the pics as only 1 has come up, so i have now done it again, so there should be 3 more appearing soon.
