I live in Somerset and have a publicly owned woodland area behind my house which has a Badger set in it.
The Badgers come into my garden every evening at dusk for their supper of xexexexexexexe scraps and peanuts (reduces organic waste admirably).
I couldn't bear it if they were destroyed. They are wonderful characters.
Why can't people leave wildlife alone!
It seems that all the ills of man are always heaped on nature.
I recall being on holiday in Rhodes when one evening a large moth landed on the awning over the outside tables and some woman screamed KILL IT!
They wanted to get rid of Wild Boar in the Forest of Dean! (Met three on a walk at dusk last weekend - bit worrying that was when they crashed through the undergrowth in front of us-exciting though)
There are people who would like to cull the Deer on Exmoor!
I have just signed the Black and White objection set up by the 'Secret World'
wildlife rescue centre in Somerset.
