| | | Re: Fox tracks ??? Im afraid to say that they are more likely domestic dog prints. You can tell this because the left and right lateral pads intersect with the anterior pads. For foxes the pads do not intersect.
The dimensions of the prints make it a little confusing though, so prints are not always enough to confirm the species. Always best to look for other signs such as scent marking, scat and also think about where you were i.e. habitat, prey etc |

| | | Re: Fox tracks ??? These are almost certainly NOT fox. (sorry!) as the pad of the foot is too broad, and the tracks are just not oval enough in general shape...
Fox tracks are a bit neater, and you can usually draw an "x" through the track between the toe pads withough crossing the pad.
However I wish I was disciplined enough to record in such detail!! My hat goes off to you! |

| | | Re: Fox tracks ??? ok so its more likely to be a small dog track ??
could any of you give me a few locations where you think there could be a fox den or is it near impossible to do so ??

| | | Re: Fox tracks ??? Muntjac can be anywhere, as they often receive assistance from man. There are even records from Scotland - I'll post a reference to a paper in Mammal Review tomorrow - too late today!
