Risso's dolphins Isle of Man

Thought you might like to know about these British Risso's.

Good numbers of Risso's dolphins are being regularly sighted along the east and south of the Isle of Man.

This is a fabulous dolphin, large and acrobatic, which has been a regular visitor to Mann over many years. Sightings along the Langness peninsula at the southern end of the Island are common in May and early June, particularly in the early evening.

On the 15th May, several sightings of animals breaching, leaping wholly from the water, were reported from a number of locations. This breaching behaviour lasted for over an hour with multiple animal simultaneously in the air.

The Risso's dolphin is a very rare around the British Isle and elsewhere in the world is generally not coastal.

Sounds great. I love cetaceans, they're fantastic creatures. I feel lucky to have been whale and dolphin watching in the past, but that was in New England. Would definately be an amazing experience to see them again some day.
