| | | Come on badgers where are you Living in the countryside all my life and being such an outdoor person there is very little that has eluded me. The one thing that I am yet to see is a trully wild badger.
This problem isn't restricted to the UK either. In Bostwana on a Horse Riding Safari I was told I was the most obervant on the trip, often spotting things before our guides. So why was it that the honey badger ambles out of the undergrowth in fron of eberyone else after I had ridden past.
I have been to stay near Bath where it was guaranteed badgers visit in the evening and I wasn't disappointed.
Am I destined never to see a trully wild badger. |

| | | Re: Come on badgers where are you b I'm sorry you've been so unlucky, they're lovely creatures. I have to agree that I've seen many when I wasnt actively looking, such as crossing the road at night. I've found going for walks near woods at dusk is often productive too. Even if you dont see badgers I think dusk's a great time for watching wildlife anyway! Good luck! |

As for Badgers, A perfectly hidden (from man) well located and active set is a good start.
After that its simple..... Bit of wood across two branches of a tree close by (act as a bench). Flask of tea and a bit of fruit etc Followed by alot of patience and perserverence. Combined at the right time it is possible to say that you will see one.
I have sat hidden in my camo, nights on end some times till 2am before seeing one. More recently i have found an area of woodland where almost nightly they wander through as they search for meal worms. I have found myself to be more lucky in this particular area than sitting near a set.
Many nights I have found it to be so frustrating because at times you know they are there, by noise or even a quick glimpse as the moonlight reaches through the top of the trees. But just like that they are gone back into the darkness. Desperately trying to save for night vision......
