| | !!!URGENT Orphan Field Mouse Care URGENT!!! I've found a baby field mouse nestled in a food bin we have for our rabbits, it's probably a few days old, it's blind, ears haven't opened not a trace of fur and I have no clue what I am to do, I can't just kill it and I'm guilty to say it but the same day we removed 3 mice from the same bin, so chances are we may have frightened off the mother, can anyone help please! |

| | Re: !!!URGENT Orphan Field Mouse Care URGENT!!! Thank you for your reply Bob, I'm so sorry, but even though I spent all last night tending to it, I followed all the advice I could find about this sort of event on this forum, but the baby didn't make it through the night...
I'm sorry. |

| | | Re: !!!URGENT Orphan Field Mouse Care URGENT!!! Im sure you tried your best. Babies this tiny are very hard to rear. Its hard to maintain the right temperature. Hard to get the formula right. Far to easy to get the formula into the lungs.
Even if you got the baby to a rescue centre with incubators and experience, they would still have had a fight on their hands. Well done for trying to help it.
Welcome to WAB

| | Re: !!!URGENT Orphan Field Mouse Care URGENT!!! Hello, i came across a nest of orphan mice today 2 were already dead and 3 alive with no sign of mom, im not sure how old they are there eyes are closed and there around an inch long. I bought them home and put them in a box with some hay and tried to feed them some milk.. However 1 has passed away and ive discovered that hay is not warm enough so ive now put the pair in a box with a blanket and a hot water bottle and they seem to have responded to the warmth by moving a little.. Im here really because i have no milk to feed them othere than cow's milk and i read it causes cramps and will kill them and i dont have kitten milk so im worried they wont last the night. does anyone have any advise?
Regards Kerry |

| | | Re: !!!URGENT Orphan Field Mouse Care URGENT!!! Can you get them to a rescue centre? these babies need emergency care. goats milk will be better than cows milk. you can get formula milk for kittens from pet shops or vets. much safer.
keep them warm. they cant digest milk if they are too cold.
