Lichens on ash tree

What is the large one in the centre ? Any others would be a bonus

Sorry about these rather simple posts ! I need to get a few certain IDs so I can do chemical tests & see what to expect.

Hi Peter,

This might be the sterile crust of a Pertusaria - just a guess that has arisen because I've been looking into this genus lately. I think it looks right, especially the zoned margin. If so, the spot tests might help you.

Good call Nigel.

Almost certainly Pertusaria hymenea that forms crusts just like this, long remaining barren - especially on young ash or sycamore.
