| | | Lichen in Peat Am I right in thinking there's two species here? I've been told cladonia are a very difficult group to species, but is this Cladonia fimbriata? What about the other foliose stuff? I thought it could be lichenomphalia hudsoniana but there's no toadstool. Not a good picture, but hopefully something can be made out of it. Any thoughts would be much appreciated and useful on the rare occasions when we get lichen enthusiasts on our nature rambles! |

| | | Re: Lichen in Peat As far as I can see, there is only one species here, and it could well be Cladonia fimbriata, though it is rather immature.
The squamules are all Cladonia. Those of Lichenomphalia hudsoniana are a different texture, more blue-green and have smooth margins.
