| | | "Pin Lichen"? What are these? Are they a pin lichen? Well this is the name I found on google. Seen on a post that was in a small area of standing water today in Northampton.

Cups (podetia) smoothly and continuously powdery (sorediate) and the cups abruptly expanded from a reasonably long, cylindrical stem.
Pin lichens are much smaller and inconspicuous, usually on rather dry tree bark. Calicium viride is one of the most common and most conspicuous of our pin lichens, but it is still only a couple of millimetres high, like minute black pins emerging from the bark.
