Have a look at his photo's and details of C. fimbriata here: Cladonia fimbriata (images of British lichens)
Its not Cladonia diversa as that has small squamules on the outside of the podetia (stalk-like bit) and larger granules inside the cups. Details, photo's below for comparison: Cladonia diversa (images of British lichens) |

| | | Re: Lichen ID I think this might well be a mixture of two species (two which do often grow intermixed).
As Jenny suggests, some of the cups look like C. fimbriata - finely powdery (sorediate) with rather neat, abruptly widened cups ...
but other cups are tapered more to the base, have more patchily and coarsely sorediate surfaces, and are C. chlorophaea.
