| | | Bit of a problem with squamules! Below are some photos taken of various squamulose lichens that I've been scratching my head over without much avail and would much appreciate some help and suggestions with!
Very small (first image is a bit smaller than my thumbnail) growing among moss on a periodically inundated calcareous rock at Dromore, Co. Clare - Endocarpon adscendens?
The following were all on a calcareous wall by Askeaton Abbey, Co. Limerick....
Q1. Psora?
Q2
Q3
Q4
Q5 This last one was in the riverside wall, again very small |

You are heading into those areas that I am still far from sorting out for myself.
My only suggestion, probably wrong, is that Q5 is Scoliciosporum umbrinum. The best formed apothecium is not yet convex and still shows a margin, but maybe it is young. Looks like there might be some more convex apothecia towards the top left.
But a few seconds with a microscope checking the spores would nail it if it is that.
My only contribution!

| Yes, I am going to have to get one, my inability to identify these unknown and not-seen-this-one-before is getting depressing! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
