Not criticising Mike's suggestion and he was pretty close (right genus, right group within the genus), but it is so vitally important to check text descriptions as well as looking at the general resemblance when following up such a suggestion. Google with care!
In this case, the surface is much too downy for P. praetextata and it lacks the diagnostic clumps of isidia/schizidia/thingies, so it is not that.
In fact it is Peltigera membranacea - one of our two most common 'dog lichens'. (The other is P. hymenina, with a completely smooth upper surface, but there are others that are very similar.)
To compare the two: Peltigera praetextata (images of British lichens) Peltigera membranacea (images of British lichens)
