Cladonia sp.?
I think this is a cladonia species. Can someone confirm or possibly narrow down even further for me. (It was not growing on the wood in the picture, it actually carpeted the sandy ground around Frensham big pond)

Certainly a Cladonia. Several possible species of these branched Cladonia for heathland, one of the commoner ones is C. portentosa.
