| | | lichen for id please id forgotten i had taken this picture, but the posts of JennyS and poschiavanus have reminded me of it,(taken on 18/12/08),
having looked at lichen pictures on wab, my best guess for it is Cladonia squamosa,(probably not even the right genus let alone species )
but im sure our reident experts will put me right
thanks,

| | | Re: lichen for id please C. squamosa is certainly a possibility, but has not been formally recorded in SK67 since 1960 (at the latest). There is at least one recent record from SK66 (I'd guess Sherwood Forest NNR). There have been about 20 different Cladonia species recorded in Notts: plenty more to find out there! |

sounds like they are a bit scarce or is that they are rarely recorded in this area?
there are a few ,what look like Usnea sp: on tree branches in the area, will try and find them again to photograph if i can,
thanks for the help with these, | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
