Orange Sand Lichen

What is this orange lichen. It was growing next to a tree stump that was sandy around the base because it was next to the brook.

Hi,

this is no lichen, I would think.
It looks like the start of the ozonium some Coprinus species have, e.g. Coprinus domesticus.

thanks. Its the area I would expect to find coprinus because it was near a dead tree branch log thing

I agree about the Ozonium; but don't forget that you can also 'expect to find' Coprinus species on sedge and rush litter; kitchen refuse; grass stems and leaves; burnt ground; soil; dung; even on the damp stuffing of a couch in a Yorkshire hospital (Coprinus kimurae)!
