Could be Lily. It's dificult from photos, you really need a close up look at them.

Certainly an Usnea, but not possible to go further on the photo. Ideally you need to take bits of it apart, look closely with a hand lens and try chemical tests.

U. subfloridana is probably the commonest species, but in S. Wales I would expect a decent variety of others.

It was found in Brecon Beacons at the foot of corn du which is the next peak to penyfan, (tallest peak in beacons). Its an upland stream lined valley full of cotton grass, dippers, grey wagtails, red kites and the like.

I don't know enough about fungi to pursue examining it, but it's been great to have an idea what it was. Thanx very much guys
