It is not Silver Leaf Fungus but as I know even less about Lichen

There is an expert on Lichen's, not sure if he's about though.

| | | Re: Dog Lichen or Silver Leaf Fungus? This is certainly a Dog Lichen Peltigera, but I struggle to get these to species.
The likeliest one in England is P. membranacea. This has bottle-brush shaped rhizines (the 'hairs' alluded to on the lower surface, and a tomentose upper surface. There are no fruiting bodies (apothecia) visible in the photo.
