yes, it was I that did the dirty deed

The original title was '2 Unknown things!!!', but I changed it to help the search engines and visitors be able to find threads more easily

Unfortunately, most people on the net never serch for '2 Unknown things!!!', but the phrase 'Lichen and Fungi' is quite popular

If we add more words like 'please', 'help' and 'id' etc then it dilutes the strength of the other keywords and google will top-rank a different site over ours, so idealy it's best to keep them out of the titles, but it's not a problem

lastly, I probably change something like two dozen titles a day, so i'm afraid it's just not feasible to pm everyopne and let them know of the change

The good news is that the recent addition of the



graphic on the new thread and reply pages will hopefully mean that more good titles will be created in the first place

Just to add, we're now ranked third on google for 'Lichen and Fungi' with 4 new direct visitors to this thread from Google since the title change (about 24 hrs). That could equate to 1,500 new visitors in the next year just because of this new thread title, and hopefully similar increases to hundreds of other new thread titles
