| | | Caddis Fly ? Caught this in my moth trap last night. I think it's a caddis fly although much smaller than the usual ones I get. FW c9mm long.
Can it be identified ?

| | | Re: Caddis Fly ? This looks like the illustration of ones from the family Leptoceridae on p. 198 of the new Collins Freshwater Life book by Greenhaigh and Ovenden. The picture of the"Black Sedge" Ceraclea nigronervosus is closest to the markings, but that is black and yours is dark brown. It may therefore be one of the ones which aren't illustrated in genus Athirpsodes, which are slightly smaller.
All this assumes that the white marks on the wings are useful for ID!
