anyone seen Purple Emperors or White Letter hairstreaks yet?
i've seen the hairstreak but not the Purple Emperor yet but am hoping to do so on sunday... |

I think there's a thread about the Purple Emperor somewhere 
Here we are - they were in Northamptonshire. Purple Emperors at Fermyn Woods
They sound like they had a great time and came back with some cracking shots.

Sorry I meant whereabouts are you going to look for them? PE's are currently being seen fairly regularly at Broxbourne Woods and Wormley Wood, Herts. |

White-letter Hairstreaks will soon be over; I've seen a maximum of 5 near where I live up on Horsenden Hill, still had 2 last Sunday.
Saw Purple Emperor at Bookham Common last Saturday; often see c4 at this master site, but only the 1 last weekend. |

I saw roughly half a dozen Purple Emperors last Monday but I think they are just about done for down here this year.

The old man stumbled across a White Letter hairstreak on Arnside Knott on Sunday, whilst on a quest for dark green and and High Brown frits.
