| | | Re: More insects for ID please The fly may be Anthomyia procellaris not pluvialis. There are several silver and black Anthomyia species and the commonest in Kent is procellaris. Apart from the male genitalia the shape of the lateral black spot on the thorax is used as an aid to identification. Was the second insect dead when photographed? It doesn't appear to have any antennae. It looks like a small mirid bug allied to Plagiognathus. |

| | | Re: More insects for ID please The bug was on a stinging nettle you could be right about it being dead, I didn't prod it to see whether it moved.
