Dragonfly Nymphs?

Here's a couple of pictures of something I spotted at Thursley today.

At first I thought it was goose poo - or worse It was low down in the grass just of the main boardwalk.

Anyway here it is

I'm assuming it a dragonfly nymph but would love to know what it might turn in to?

Re: Dragonfly Nymphs?

It's a Dragonfly Nymph casing- the Dragon has emerged, it's empty. However, I'm unsure about the species that will have emerged from it.

The white stringy stuff is the lining of the spiracles. These are pulled out as the imago emerges.

Ooh, you'd better get to some good water and look amongst the reeds and grasses. They cling on - A real good sight!

Re: Dragonfly Nymphs?

Yes, thanks all for your info/comments

I think I'm developing an obsession with dragonflies etc "LOL" so much so I've just ordered a book. Someone, I think it was Wildwoman, recommended one a while back but I balked at the cost so have ordered something a little less expensive but still quite pricy (for me) but it is still by Steve Brooks - hope I won't be disappointed.
