| | | Beetle ID please! Has any one any idea as to the identity of this little chap found on the kitchen ceiling a few days ago?. Length approx 3/4 inch long. Is it some sort of longhorn beetle perhaps?. I've scrolled through countless photos but haven't so far found anything similar. Thankyou! |

| | | Re: Beetle ID please! It's probably not, but it looks similar to Oedemera nobilis with those swollen hind legs. I'm sure someone will know though.

I think this is quite an uncommon woodland (?) species in many areas - where abouts in the country are you? |

| | | Re: Beetle ID please! Hello. I'm in the Chew Valley, which is approx 13 miles south of Bristol. Lots of mature trees, and woodland close by. Any ideas where I might find more information it? Googling hasn't produced a great deal of information, only that it may be new to this country (found in a newsletter of the Suffolk moth group dated 2000!).
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Lynne | I don't remember! Probably written up in The Coleopterist - I'll try and find a reference later. |
