Snipe Fly for ID check please

More from my unidentified files.

This fly from last June, South Devon, appears to me to be Rhagio lineola but it was on the large size for that species (although I don't have exact measurements) so I would appreciate a more informed opinion.

My other thought was a pale form of R. scolopaceus. Or possibly something totally different.

This shot clearly shows two spurs on the hind tibia

And a close up of the head.

We appear to be short of definite named Rhagio in the Gallery so I would like to be certain before uploading a photo.

ps. There is one Rhagio there which appears very like a flower bug to me.

Looks like lineola to me, Geoff.

Thanks for the confirmation, Ian.

I thought I was probably correct, due to a downloaded simple commonest species key plus a more detailed check with Stubbs & Drake. But as it was at the upper size end of R. lineola I thought I had better check with an expert.

Will send to the Gallery tomorrow.

How are you with Crane flies? Another species which will require a double check tomorrow.
