Whatever flea treatment you use, you will need to repeat it, since the fleas that have succesfully fed on you will have laid eggs, and they will hatch in a while. You need to keep repeating the treatment until the cycle is broken.
But dont worry, you WILL get it under control. |

We had an awful flea problem this summer too (Thank you kitty), so we went to the vets who recommended some pricey spray for the house and spot on treatment for the cat.
We moved all the furniture in all the rooms and first hoovered all over the house and washed all the cushion and chair covers, then sprayed every square inch of the floor and furniture with the spray. After this we hoovered yet again.
We also had a flea trap which is a sticky pad under a little light that gives off heat, this gave us an indication of how bad the flea infestation was (and it was a satisfying feeling when you see them all stuck in it  ).
Glad to say I haven't seen any since then, although they may come back when the weather becomes hotter again.
