| | | Re: spiders indoors in winter Could be Nuctenea umbratica with those darkly banded legs and dark body which looks like it might have the wavy pattern along the edge of the abdomen. Spiders in and around Torphins Wood, Scotland

| | | Re: spiders indoors in winter I saw a male Nuctenea umbratica in September on my south wall, I usually see a female in the greenhouse and that is in the day time. The strongly banded legs are typical. I'm not sure if you would expect to see them now but the mild weather has brought some insects out.
Neriene montana is one you are likely to see inside at this time of year but the shape doesn't look right for that.
