Unknown insect for identification please

Hello all,

Over the last couple of days I have come across a few insects on my living room wall.

From a few yards away they look like small grey/white moths but on closer inspection they appear not to be.

But when I picked them up they made no attempt to run/fly away. I then noticed that they had a skinny head/neck with a black dot on the end that could retract back into the main body like a snail!!! What can they be?

Sound like the larvae of one of the case bearing clothes moths or other domestic moths.

Yes, they do sound like case bearing clothes moths; I've had these before climbing up the walls and setting up on the coving...

Pics needed to be sure though.
