Sprintail on/near water
I found this chap sitting on the top of the water in a pond dip tray here in Essex. about 4 or 5mm long. It could have come from the water surface or some marginal vegetation. Any idea on ID?

Looks like Orchasella villosa, great water-based shot of an adult who'll take some time to get back to the edge again!

ooo I suspected Orchesella after looking at Stephen Hopkin's site. good to know I was in the right ball park.

I cant find much actual info on the species. Is it aquatic or amarsh dweller? or just fallen in the net?

Just fallen in. It has to be said I don't find this one much, but when I do it's usually under decking/slabs.
