| | | Re: Foreign Dragonflies Good to see these here John.
1 male Scarlet Darter, Crocothemis erythraea- common in med + Africa, At least couple of UK records
2 Long Skimmer, Orthetrum trinacria
3 in many ways looks like our Blue Emperor, but the brown thorax is making me thinking this is a very blue Lesser Emperor, Anax parthenope
4 + 6 Red-veined Darter, Sympetrum fonscolombei- a regular migrant, temporary resident in UK, abundant in med.
5 Epaulet Skimmer, Orthetrum chrysostigma

| | | Re: Foreign Dragonflies 4&6 are Violet Dropwing (Trithemis annulata) - going up the west coast of France but not got here yet! (A count of the antenodal crossveins in pic 4 eliminates sympetrum species + its got all black legs)
agree with the others. |

agree with the others. | Not a species I've seen yet. Thanks for the correction- think the blue undersides to the yes threw me there along with the reddish veins. |

I should have added that pics 4 & 6 are of females and, as in all aspects of life, the females are more difficult

| | | Re: Foreign Dragonflies Although this has already been answered, I'll add my agreement - all as said by Aeshna, apart from the correction for 4 & 6 by Wint.
