Found these in June this year in a nice unimproved grassland in the Wyre Forest.   |

I'm afraid both of these require an expert; but as we are still waiting for one to become available . . .
The sawfly looks a bit like Zaraea fasciata but that isn't a confirmed ID.
The wasp is probably one of the Mason Wasps (Eumenidae) but these are notoriously difficult to fully identify from photos. And the Digger Wasps (Sphecidae) are rather similar. |

Thanks Geoff,
I've had a little bit more help and Abia for the sawfly has ben identified. I was thinking Abia sericea is more likely? |

Agree Abia more likely - but either way it's a Cimbicid sawgly. |

The wasp looks like one of the Gorytine Crabronids to me |
