I've taken some video of a strange larvae I found a couple of days ago in my local pub beer garden which is in the shade of a sycamore tree.
Any ideas what it might be? Here's the video

It looks like a Syrphidae larva.

I was just thinking the valve out the back is more pronounced than I've normally seen in Syrphidae, though I've never seen a Stratiomyid larva move nor seem to taper like that - so I shouldn't really speculate...  | | |
