I've not seen one of these before but it looks like a squash bug and it has wing buds so...
Help with identification appreciated as always:

It was a pig to photograph - I ended up straddling the fence like a rodeo rider - with several puzzled onlookers too.
...."What's that guy/nutter up to - why's he photographing that fence?".
