| | | Eating Insects I notice that the free food foragers don't seem too keen on eating insects
are there any common insects that could supply the sort of protein of things like Locusts?

| | | Re: Eating Insects There used to be a shop in Gt. Portland Street, London where they sold things like kangaroo tail soup. I bought a tin of chocolate covered ants which were quite nice and crunchy!!

By Locust I wonder whether Nightshade means Low cost, unless of course(probably the starter course) they are a delicacy, and they aren't freely available here I don't think?...economy often comes into it... |

| | | Re: Eating Insects Just done a bit of research, and as I don't keep Reptiles,I wasn't aware that you could breed Locusts, along with a variety of Crickets, and they are commonly available as reptile food.
The Portsmouth Reptile and Amphibian Society says that they can be quite expensive up to 30p each,I don't know when that entry was made,it is not that Low cost ,the Locust, but farming them could work I guess. |

| | | Re: Eating Insects Get your own back - eat a Wartbiter.
Forget Locusts - they only give you a kick in the stomach.
Perfect menu -
Horsefly d'oeuvres
Roast Beefly, cabbage white, carrot fly and turnip moth
Apple codling and cream
all served with a crisp Mayfly Wine |
