Is this a giant cranefly ?

Hi , can anyone tell me if this is a Giant Cranefly?

I haven't heard of a Giant Cranefly, the only ones I can find with that name are in the US. There's a lot of craneflies and close details are needed to stand a chance, then it would require someone going through keys.

However, this looks like one I have at the moment and yours is a male. I haven't yet got around to keying it, but it is probably a Tipula species.

This is a fairly standard Tipula species. Our biggest is Tipula maxima, which is truly enormous! Often found near water.
