| | | Re: ID : Possible Lygus Species. (Heteroptera) I use an 18x30cm ' Museum-style' box from good ol' Watkins & Doncaster - glass-lidded and plastazote-lined.
I get about 200+ labelled specimens per box.

| | | Re: ID : Possible Lygus Species. (Heteroptera) Thanks. I am most likely going to be at the BENHS exhibition next month so I shall be able to see how others store their bugs as well as various stuff.
Are you going to be there?
Cheers,
Andrew. |

| | | Re: ID : Possible Lygus Species. (Heteroptera) Sounds interesting. I'm not with the BENHS (yet), so glad to see 'guests' shown.
Any idea what the admission fee is for non-members? |

Any idea what the admission fee is for non-members? | Not sure what the set up is at all but I suspect it is open house. It feels that way. |

| | | Re: ID : Possible Lygus Species. (Heteroptera) Hello again,
I had another Lygus yesterday in the garden and am pretty confident that it is a Lygus wagneri based on the PDF paper by Bernard Nau in HetNews via the British Bugs website. What's the distribution of Lygus wagneri regards to Devon or the south west?
Regards,
Andrew. |

| | | Re: ID : Possible Lygus Species. (Heteroptera) Hi Andrew,
I'm not familiar with wagneri but it is supposed to be more of a westerly species which doubtless occurs in Devon and Cornwall. I'm not sure if the distribution of pratensis reaches that far west. The status of these two species has been confounded not only identification difficulties but also by range changes during the last 10 years.
Sorry not to be more helpful!

| | | Re: ID : Possible Lygus Species. (Heteroptera) Thanks Tristan. Looks like a problematic one but on a personal level I will have it down as L. wagneri (provisionally).
Thanks,
Andrew. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
