No.3 is not an Eristalis - no looped vein.

| | | Re: Various hoverflies and a puzzle! Specimens 1, 2 & 4 are E. tenax - you can see the curved tibia, feathers and in places the dark hair band on the eyse. 3 I cannot be certain about. 5 is more of a problem - I suspect it to be E. tenax too but will err on the side of caution. |
