Wasp advice needed.

A couple of years ago whilst hedge trimming, I was chased by some angry Wasps!
Today, I was trimming the hedge and I noticed 3 or 4 Wasps that had been disturbed.
I returned 2 hours later and continued, but they reappeared.
When will the threat of Wasps have gone, is it this month that they tend to die off?

Yes, into October the colonies will start to collapse in conjunction to colder temperatures and frosts. It sounds like there could be a nest within the hedge.
