Fly for ID

Hi there,

I know this image isn't great but I'd really love to know what kind of fly this is!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Some kind of Halictid - a bee, not fly. I'm guessing this was a few weeks ago?

It was 3 days ago! It was quite small though, did not look at all like a bee, but then again I am no authority on this.

A male Lasioglossum bee.

I also have a snail that I'd like an ID on. I think it's a pond snail but it was found hanging on a reed by the river side, not actually in the water so I'm a wee bit confused! I tried to ID it myself but apparently there are a few variations of pond snails and I have almost no way of telling the difference.
